The Ministry of Caring Inc. Serving the Poor and Homeless in Delaware

The Ministry of Caring is a non-profit, ecumenical organization devoted to serving poor, homeless, and disadvantaged people in and around Wilmington, Delaware. The Ministry of Caring offers food, shelter, job training and placement, child care, basic medical and dental care, a residence for people living with AIDS, clothing and household goods for those in need.

There are many ways to support the Ministry of Caring, by making a donation, volunteering your time, or participating in a special event.

Eleganza
Friday, September 24, 2010 - 7-11 pm
Delaware Museum of Natural History, Kennett Pike, Greenville. The Ministry of Caring Guild is pleased to announce that the 21st annual Eleganza fashion fundraiser will be held at the Delaware Museum of Natural History on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 7 pm. The theme for this year's Eleganza Fashion Show is Back to the Basics: Food + Shelter + Clothing, and will include fine food, drink, gaming, and fashions by Wilmington-area boutiques. This year's honorary chairs are Greg and Catherine Varallo, and the co-chairs are Michelle Modesto and Christi Miller. Eleganza benefits the Ministry of Caring's emergency shelters for men, women, and children. Tickets for Eleganza are $110 each (discounted to $95 for early bird purchases before 9/1/10). AIDSWalk - Rockford Park, Wilmington
Sunday, September 26, 2010 - 2 pm
Benefits House of Joseph II, the Ministry’s residence for people living with AIDS, as well other AIDS/HIV service agencies in Delaware that serve HOJ II residents. The Ministry of Caring’s 2008 Annual Report is now available. This annual report—In Time of Need—tells the story of some of the people we have helped, as well as some who volunteer to help us. Their stories are heartwarming and inspirational.
